Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience (COPE)
&
Climb on Safely, Climbing / Rappelling Towers

Caddo Area Council has climbing, rappelling and COPE facilities at Camp Preston Hunt (Texarkana,Ar) and at Camp Pioneer (Mena, Ar). The facilities are available to all registered Scout Troops, Venturing Crews, Learning for Life - Exploring participants and Corporate Groups. The COPE and Climbing facilities and programs can be used effectively to enhance the unit program and the personal development of the Scouts, Venturers and other participants.

The facilities can be reserved through the Council service center subject to the availability of the dates requested and certified directors and instructors.

COPE Facilitator Training
Climb on Safely & Tower Instructor Training

Training is available for both rappelling and climbing (Climb on Safely and Tower Instructor combined into one course) and for COPE Facilitators. Properly trained and certified unit leaders make scheduling and using the facilities less difficult since the availability of certified instructors is covered by the unit.  Besides that:

Medical form is required if the participant does not have a current Class 1, 2 or 3  BSA physical form.

Parental Consent form is required for ALL COPE and Climbing/Rappelling activities.
