Introduciton to Out Door Leader Skills

This hands-on program gives both Cub and Boy Scout adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in their camping experiences.  These skills include setting up a campsite, pitching a tent, hiking and outdoor cooking, along with the other outdoor skills and requirements needed in order to help their youth and youth leaders participate, plan and carry out campouts.  This is a weekend course that will begin on a Friday evening and conclude on a Sunday afternoon.  This course is aimed for Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters,  Venturing Advisors, and any leader intersted in having a strong outdoor program.  It is recommended that this course be taken after the Specific training session.  This is the only Outdoor leader camping training offered by BSA.  In order to be trained as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster, this course is required.  For all other leadership positions, this course is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED if you are camping with the boys.
